초록(요약문)
본 연구는 일반고등학교 출신 무용전공 졸업생들의 대학 진학 후 경험한 대학 적응 과정과 진로 형성과정을 심층적으로 탐색하는 데 목적이 있다. 기존 연구가 예술고등학교와 일반고등학교 출신 간의 양적 비교에 집중해 온 것과 다르게, 본 연구는 일반고등학교 출신을 독립된 연구 집단으로 설정하여 그들의 경험적 맥락과 의미 구조를 밝히고자 하였다. 이를 위해 국내 4년제 대학교 무용과를 졸업한 일반고등학교 출신 무용전공자 9명을 유목적적 표집을 진행하여 심층 면담을 실시하고, Colaizzi(1978)의 현상학적 분석 절차를 적용하여 경험의 본질을 도출하였다. 연구 결과, 일반고등학교 출신 무용전공 졸업생들의 경험은 크게 고등학교 단계에서 전공 경험 결핍과 진로 정보 접근의 제한, 대학 진학 이후 실기 및 이론 수업과 무용계 문화에 대한 적응, 예술고등학교 출신 동기들과의 비교 속에서 경험한 심리적 위축과 정체성 재구성, 대학 경험을 기반으로 한 진로 재평가와 다각적 진로 확장으로 나타났다. 특히 일부 참여자들은 일반고등학교 출신이라는 배경이 오히려 이론 학습에 대한 자신감, 다양한 진로에 대한 개방성, 진로 전환에 대한 심리적 유연성으로 작용하였다고 인식하였다. 이러한 결과는 일반고등학교 출신 무용전공 졸업생들이 경험한 어려움이 개인의 노력이나 역량 부족에서 비롯되기보다, 고등학교 교육과정의 구조적 한계, 전공 교육 접근성의 불균형, 학교 간 지원 격차와 같은 환경적 요인과 밀접하게 연관되어 있음을 보여준다. 이는 부르디외의 문화자본론 관점에서 일반고등학교 출신 무용전공자가 대학이라는 교육의 장에 진입하면서 기존에 축적된 문화자본의 차이로 인한 적응 부담을 경험하는 과정으로 해석될 수 있다. 본 연구는 일반고등학교 출신 무용전공 졸업생들의 대학 적응과 진로 형성 경험을 심층적으로 탐색함으로써, 무용교육의 접근성과 진로지원 체계에 대한 교육적 시사점을 제공하며, 향후 일반고등학교 무용교육 및 대학 차원의 전공과 진로지원 정책 개선을 위한 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

The purpose of this study is to explore in depth the college adaptation process and career formation process experienced by dance majors from general high schools after entering college. Unlike previous studies that have focused on quantitative comparisons between art high schools and general high schools, this study sought to clarify the empirical context and semantic structure of experiences by treating graduates from general high schools as an independent research group. To this end, nine dance majors from general high schools who graduated from a four-year university dance department of in Korea participated in in-depth interviews, and the essence of their experiences was derived using Colaizzi's (1978) phenomenological analysis procedure. As a result, the experience of dance majors from general high school was largely shapes by a lack of major experience and limited access to career information at the high school level, adaptation to practical and theoretical classes and dance culture after entering college, psychological withdrawal and identity reconstruction experienced through comparison with peers from art high schools, career re-evaluation based on college experience, and career expansion. Some participants recognized that their background as graduates of general high schools functioned as confidence in theoretical learning, openness to diverse career paths, and psychological flexibility for career transitions. These results show that the difficulties experienced by dance majors from general high schools are closely related to environmental factors such as structural limitations of the high school curriculum, imbalance in access to major education, and gap in support between schools, rather than individual efforts or lack of competence. This can be interpreted as a process in which dance majors from general high schools enter the field of education called universities from Bourdieu's perspective on cultural capital and experience the burden of adaptation due to differences in existing accumulated cultural capital. By deeply exploring the experience of college adaptation and career formation of dance majors from general high schools, this study provides educational and career support systems and offers foundational data for enhancing dance education in general high schools as well as major and career support policies at the college level.
