본 연구는 자아존중감이 자기효능감에 미치는 영향을 우울불안이 매개하는지 살펴보고, 이 매개효과가 친구관계와 성장신념에 의해 조절되는지를 확인하였다. 이를 위해 경기도교육연구원 경기교육종단연구의 학령 전환기 중학교 1학년 청소년 약 5603명의 자료를 활용하여, Preacher, Rucker와 Hayes(2007)이 제안한 대로 매개분석, 조절분석, 조절된 매개분석을 차례로 실시하였다. 분석 결과로는 첫째, 자아존중감과 자기효능감 간의 관계를 우울불안이 부분매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 친구관계는 자아존중감과 우울불안의 관계를, 성장신념은 우울불안과 자기효능감의 관계를 조절하였다. 셋째, 조절된 매개분석 결과, 우울불안이 자아존중감과 자기효능감 간의 관계를 매개하는 효과는 친구관계와 성장신념에 의해 조절되었다. 구체적으로 조절된 매개효과는 친구관계가 자아존중감과 우울불안의 관계를, 성장신념이 우울불안과 자기효능감의 관계를 조절하기 때문에 나타났으며, 친구관계가 좋고 성장신념이 강할수록 간접효과가 증가하는 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구의 임상적 함의와 후속 연구를 위한 제언을 논의하였다.

This study aims to examine the moderated mediating effect of friend relationship and growth mindset as well as the mediating effect of depression/anxiety between self-esteem and self-efficacy. A data sample of 5603 adolescents from Gyeonggi Institute of Education, who are in transition from elementary school to middle school, was analyzed using the moderated mediation model by Preacher, Rucker, and Hayes (2007). First, self-esteem was positively associated with self-efficacy and the association was partially mediated by depression/anxiety. Second, friend relationship moderated the relationship between self-esteem and depression/anxiety, and growth mindset moderated the relationship between depression/anxiety and self-efficacy. Third, the moderated mediating effect of friendship and growth mindset was partially significant; self-esteem moderated by friend relationship significantly influenced on self-efficacy via depression/anxiety for the adolescent with higher level of growth mindset, but it was not significant for the adolescent with normal and lower level of growth mindset. Based on these findings, practical implications and suggestions for further studies were discussed.
