초록/요약
본 연구에서는 부모의 심리적 통제가 중학생의 학업지연행동에 미치는 과정에서 중학생의 사회부과적 완벽주의와 자아존중감이 매개효과를 가지는지 확인하였다. 이를 위해 서울 지역에 소재하는 중학교 1곳, 경기도 남양주시에 소재하는 중학교 1곳에 재학 중인 1,2,3학년 남녀 학생 377명을 (N=377)을 대상으로 자료를 분석하였고, 구조방정식 모형을 설정하여 검증하였다. 주요 연구결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부모의 심리적 통제는 중학생의 학업지연행동에 직접적인 정적영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 둘째, 부모의 심리적 통제와 학업지연행동의 관계에서 자아존중감이 매개효과가 있는 것으로 확인되었고, 사회부과적 완벽주의는 매개하지 않았다. 이와 같은 연구결과는 부모의 심리적 통제와 학업지연행동 사이의 관계에서 자아존중감이 핵심적인 역할을 하고 있음을 이해하고, 학업지연행동으로 어려움을 호소하는 청소년들의 개인상담 장면에서 활용 가능한 자료를 제시해준다는 점에서 의의를 가진다. 또한 부모 상담에서 부모의 심리적 통제가 학업지연행동을 증가시킨다는 것을 부모들에게 인식시킬 수 있다. 본 연구의 제한점 및 앞으로의 연구 방향에 대한 논의도 포함하였다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of parental psychological control on academic procrastination perceived by middle school students and mediating effects of socially prescribed perfectionism and self-esteem. For this purpose, a structural equation model was verified by surveying 377 students who are freshmen to senior of two middle schools located in Seoul and Namyangju, Gyeonggi. The results of this study are as follows. First, parental psychological control had a direct static effect on the adolescent’s academic procrastination. Second, the mediating effect of self-esteem between parental psychological control and adolescent’s academic procrastination was recognized. The results of this study showed that self - esteem plays a key role in the relationship between parental psychological control and adolescent’s academic procrastination. Also this study will provide useful information for counseling programs to teenagers who had difficulty in academic procrastination and it helps parents to be recognized parental psychological control increasing the adolescent’s academic procrastination. Limitations of this study and suggestions for subsequent studies were discussed.
