본 연구는 원격 연상 검사의 구성 요소와 정답률 사이의 관계에 대하여 알아보았다. 먼저, 예비연구에서 20문항으로 구성된 원격 연상 검사를 개발하였다. 연구 1에서는 자극단어의 형태와 정답률 사이의 관계에 대해서 알아보았으며, 연구 2에서는 자극단어와 목표단어 사이의 연합 유형과 정답률 사이의 관계를 알아보았다. 마지막으로 연구 3에서는 자극단어와 목표단어 사이의 연상 거리와 정답률 사이의 관계를 알아보았다. 연구 1의 결과, 자극단어의 형태와 정답률 사이의 관계가 유의하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 연구 2에서는 자극단어와 목표단어 사이의 연합 유형 중 유의어가 증가할수록 정답률이 낮아짐을 알 수 있었다. 마지막으로 연구 3에서는 세 개의 자극단어와 목표단어 사이의 평균 연상 거리가 짧을수록 정답률이 높아졌으며, 세 개의 자극단어 중 하나라도 목표단어와 연상 거리가 짧을수록 정답률이 높아졌다. 이러한 결과들을 토대로 원격 연상 검사의 난이도와 관련이 있는 문항 구성 요소에 관하여 논의하고 후속연구 방향을 제안하였다.

This study analyzed relations between correct answer rate and the component of remote associates test (RAT). As a preliminary study, we developed a 20-item version of the RAT in Korean. In the study 1, relations between correct answer rate and the form of three stimulus words were evaluated. However, statistically significant relations were not found in the study. In the study 2, relations between correct answer rate and the associative type of three stimulus words and target word were examined. The result showed inversely correlated tendency between the variables. As the number of synonym of associative types increased, the correct answer rate was decreased. In the study 3, we examined the relations between correct answer rate and the associative distance of three stimulus words and target word. The result showed significantly increased correct answer rate as the average associative distance between three stimulus words and target word was closer. In addition, when the closest associative distance between one of the stimuli words and target word was closer, the correct answer rate was increased. From these results, the difficulty of RAT and component of RAT items were discussed and the direction of follow up studies were suggested.
