Design of the Power Divider with Physical Output Port Isolation

초록/요약 도움말

In this work, a power divider with physical output port isolation is presented. In conventional power dividers, isolation impedances are placed at output ports, so additional interconnection lines are needed for physical output port isolation. In the proposed power divider, the isolation impedances are moved from output ports to the middle of the quarter-wave transmission lines so that the remained part of the transmission lines after the isolation impedances can be used for physical isolation between the output ports. To verify the proposed design equation, theoretical analysis, simulation, measurement were performed. The proposed power dividers were designed at 2 GHz, VNA(Vector Network Analyzer) was used for measurement. The measurement results of the 3-way proposed power divider show 4.8 dB of insertion loss, an isolation greater than 20 dB, an input return loss greater than 16.2 dB, and output return loss greater than 30 dB at operating frequency 2.0 GHz. Additionally, the size of the fabricated circuits are much smaller than those of conventional type, because there is no need of additional interconnection transmission lines in proposed power dividers. The measurement results show great agreement with the proposed design equation.
