초록/요약
The purpose of this research is to estimate and quantify toxicity of titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticle for microorganism. Nano size particle of TiO2 was more toxic than micro size a particle. Three species of microorganism, namely, Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, and Saccharomyces cerevisiae were tested to test antibacterial effect. E. coli showed the lowest survival ratio (36%) and S. cerevisiae was the most resistant to toxicity of TiO2 nanoparticles (71%). The antibacterial effect of TiO2 is also dependent on wavelength of ultraviolet ray. Survival ratio of E. coli was 40 % in 254 nm wavelength and 80% in 365 nm. To observe the effect of TiO2 on intracellular metabolite, metabolic flux analysis was performed in addition to measurement of in vivo glucose-6-phosphate. G6P concentration of cell exposed to TiO2 increased and glycolysis flux higher than control.
