일반적으로 수학이 학생들에게 재미없고 어려운 교과로 받아들여지는 것은 수학 내용의 최종적인 형태가 수학화 ∙ 추상화되고, 그것을 학습자들은 일방적으로 받아들이기만 하는 형태의 수업이 전개되기 때문이다.
현재 수학교육의 현장은 이미 체계화 되어있는 수학적 내용을 주입시키는 전통적인 수업 방식으로 인해 학생들은 수학을 어렵고 재미없는 과목이라고 생각하게 되고 학년이 더해감에 따라 수학학습에 대한 흥미를 잃어간다. 그리고 수학의 유용성을 깨닫지 못한 채 학습 부진아 또한 계속 발생하고 있는 실정이다.
이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 최근 수학 교육의 흐름이 학습자의 활동과 경험을 중요하게 여기는 체험 수학으로 크게 바뀌고 있는데 이는 바람직한 일이라 할 수 있다.
지식과 이해만을 원하는 수업은 지루하고 발전적이지 못하지만 자신의 직접적인 경험을 통해 이해된 지식은 오래 기억되므로, 논리적이고 추상적인 수학을 제대로 이해시키기 위해서는 직접적인 경험을 통한 체험학습이 요구된다.
이에 본 연구는 위와 같은 필요성에 의하여 수학적 체험학습의 활성화를 위한 목적으로 체험수학의 학습 자료의 종류를 알아보고, 학교현장에서 활용할 수 있는 구체적인 학습모형을 제작하여 보았으며, 제작된 학습 자료를 학교현장에 적용하기 위한 교수-학습 방법을 모색해보았다.
앞으로도 이러한 체험 수학 자료가 지속적으로 연구되어 학교 현장에서 도움이 되길 바라며, 학생들에게는 수학에 대한 흥미와 필요성을 느끼게 하고 수학적 사고력과 수학적 힘의 육성을 통하여 수학에 대한 긍정적인 태도 변화를 유발할 수 있는 자료의 연구 개발이 있기를 기대한다.

It is generally hard for students to get an interest in Mathematics and they feel with difficult often. It is caused by the final form of Mathematics contents which is abstract and mathematical and a lecture that learners only unilaterally accept.
Learners actually regard Mathematics as a difficult and
uninterested subject because of the traditional way of teaching instruction, the cramming system of education now.
Students lose their interest of studying Mathematics as their grades go up and it results that they finally do not realize the
useful characteristic of Mathematics and also continuously it happen that many students are in a poor progress.
To solve this problem, the current movement of mathematics
education becomes an Experience Mathematics which is a possibility of doing and considering the learner''s activities and experience as very important and indispensable parts.
The knowledge understood by their own experience leads to be remembered long but it is hard for the way of teaching which
forces students to only remember to give a interest and development to them.
So the Experience Mathematics through the direct experience of oneself is needed to make the learners to comprehend properly logical and abstract Mathematics.
This research for the above necessities examines sorts of material in the Experience Mathematics studying in the objective for the activation of Experience mathematics studying and produces the concrete studying model to be able to be used in the school and considers a method of the Teaching &Learning to apply to the
school.
In the future, it is anticipated that this material of the Experience Mathematics is continuously researched to help a study in the schools and makes the students realize a interest and necessity and more improved material is hoped to be researched and developed to induce them to have an affirmative attitude toward Mathematics with upbringing of mathematical contemplative faculty and thinking power
