Drawing on Laclau and Mouffe’s theory—which posits that any attempt toward a perfectly sutured social order can never be successfully sutured because it paradoxically defines itself only through a threatening “constitutive outside”—this study situates the “emotional governance” of Kim Jong Un’s North Korea within the politics of antagonism. Within the current of the “Emotional Turn” in media studies, the research analyzes Ryorisangsik (Cooking Knowledge), a staple program on Korean Central Television airing since 2020. Utilizing “professional vision” and “qualitative sensitivity” derived from the researcher’s extensive professional experience in broadcast production, the study interrogates the ruptures in production grammar that lie concealed beneath the textual surface. The analysis reveals that Ryorisangsik endeavors to stage the prosperity of a “socialist civilized state” through sophisticated governing grammars, such as the “chronotope of desire” and “expert-learner role-playing.” However, this controlled order is inevitably breached by affective ruptures, which this study categorizes into six types: (1) performative failure; (2) non-verbal bodily resistance; (3) excess of production; (4) structural rupture; (5) rupture in role performance; and (6) rupture in discourse and knowledge. The thesis argues that these fissures are not mere technical errors but inevitable consequences of a specific manifestation of the “Emotional Turn” in Kim Jong Un’s era: the “Sensory Turn”. Unlike past governance predicated on abstract ideology, the current regime’s attempt to regulate concrete sensations—such as “taste” and “hygiene”—inevitably encounters the uncontrollable resistance of materiality and the body, exposing an inherent structural vulnerability. Transcending the binary of success and failure, this study elucidates emotional governance as a dynamic ‘antagonistic relationship’ wherein control and rupture interact. By extending the analytical scope from macro-ideology to the realm of micro-affect, this research establishes a novel theoretical framework to decipher the structural paradoxes concealed beneath the regime's textual surface.

라클라우와 무페(Laclau & Mouffe)에 따르면, 완벽한 사회적 질서를 향한 시도는 결코 성공적으로 봉합될 수 없다. 모든 질서는 그 완결성을 위협하는 ‘구성적 외부’를 통해서만 역설적으로 스스로를 규정할 수 있기 때문이다. 본 연구는 미디어 연구의 거시적 흐름인 감정적 전환(Emotional Turn)의 흐름 속에서, 김정은 시대 북한의 미디어를 통한 ‘감정 통치(emotional governance)’ 역시 이러한 ‘길항 관계(antagonism)’의 정치학으로 작동함을 규명한다. 이를 위해 2020년부터 방영된 조선중앙TV의 요리 프로그램 <료리상식>을 분석 텍스트로 선정하고, 현업 방송연출자로서의 제작경험에서 비롯된 질적 민감성(Qualitative Sensitivity)을 토대로 텍스트 이면에 은폐된 제작 문법의 파열을 심층적으로 포착하였다. 분석 결과, <료리상식>은 ‘욕망의 크로노토프’나 전문가-학습자 역할극과 같은 정교한 통치 문법을 통해 ‘사회주의 문명국’의 풍요를 전시하려 시도한다. 그러나 본 연구는 그 통제된 질서 내부에서 발생하는 정동적 균열의 양상을 (1) 의도된 행위를 신체가 따라가지 못하는 ‘수행의 실패’, (2) 통제된 감각에 대한 ‘신체의 비언어적 저항’, (3) 완벽함을 연출하려는 시도 자체가 인위성을 폭로하는 ‘연출의 과잉’, (4) 텍스트의 서사 구조가 붕괴하는 ‘구조적 파열’, (5) 인물의 역할 수행이 충돌하는 ‘역할 수행의 파열’, (6) 공식 담론과 일상 지식이 충돌하는 ‘담론과 지식의 균열’이라는 여섯 가지 유형으로 범주화하였다. 본 연구는 이러한 균열이 단순한 제작상의 오류가 아니라, ‘감정적 전환’이라는 거시적 흐름 속에서 포착된 김정은 시대 감성 정치의 고유한 특수성, 즉 ‘감각적 전회(Sensory Turn)’가 초래한 필연적 결과임을 논증한다. 과거의 ‘이념’ 중심 통치와 달리 ‘맛’, ‘위생’과 같은 구체적인 감각을 통제하려는 시도는, 통제 불가능한 신체와 물질성의 저항에 부딪혀 필연적으로 ‘구조적 아킬레스건’을 노출할 수밖에 없기 때문이다. 성공과 실패의 이분법을 넘어, 본 연구는 감정 통치를 통제와 균열이 상호작용하는 길항 관계로 규명한다. 북한 미디어 연구의 분석 층위를 거시적 이념에서 미시적인 정동의 영역으로 확장시켜, 텍스트 이면에 작동하는 체제의 구조적 역설을 해명하는 새로운 이론적 틀을 제시한다.
