초록(요약문)

본 연구는 경계선 성격 성향과 이성관계 만족도 간의 관계에서 거부민감성의 매개효과를 검증하고, 자기효과와 상대방효과를 분석하였다. 이를 위해 미혼 연인 142쌍을 대상으로 APIMeM 모형을 적용한 분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 경계선 성격 성향이 높은 연인이 일반 연인보다 유의하게 높은 거부민감성과 낮은 이성관계 만족도를 보였다. 둘째, 대부분 주요 변인들 간에 유의한 상관이 나타났으며, 특히 경계선 성격 성향은 자기 거부민감성과 정적 상관을, 자기 이성관계 만족도와 부적 상관을 보였다. 셋째, 여성은 남성에 비해 경계선 성격 성향과 거부민감성이 유의하게 더 높았고, 남성의 경우 이성관계 만족도가 유의하게 더 높았다. 넷째, 경계선 성격 성향이 거부민감성에 미치는 자기효과는 남녀 모두 정적으로 유의하였고, 상대방효과는 남성에게서만 정적으로 유의하였다. 다섯째, 거부민감성이 이성관계 만족도에 미치는 자기효과와 상대방효과는 여성에게서만 부적으로 유의하게 나타났다. 여섯째, 남성의 경계선 성격 성향이 남성의 이성관계 만족도에 미치는 자기효과에서 여성의 거부민감성만이 유의한 매개효과를 보였다. 또한 여성의 경계선 성격 성향이 여성의 이성관계 만족도에 미치는 자기효과에서도 여성의 거부민감성만이 유의하게 매개하였다. 일곱째, 남성의 경계선 성격 성향이 여성의 이성관계 만족도에 미치는 상대방효과에서도 여성의 거부민감성만이 유의하게 매개하였으며, 여성의 경계선 성격 성향이 남성의 이성관계 만족도에 미치는 상대방효과에서도 여성의 거부민감성만이 유의한 매개효과를 나타냈다. 위와 같은 연구결과를 바탕으로 본 연구의 의의, 제한점 및 향후 연구에 대한 제언을 제시하였다.

초록(요약문)

This study examined the mediating role of rejection sensitivity in the association between borderline personality traits and romantic relationship satisfaction and investigated actor and partner effects in couples. Data were collected from 142 unmarried heterosexual couples, and the Actor Partner Interdependence Mediation Model (APIMeM) was used for analysis. The main findings are as follows. First, couples with higher levels of borderline personality traits reported significantly greater rejection sensitivity and lower romantic relationship satisfaction compared with the comparison group. Second, most key variables were significantly correlated; specifically, borderline personality traits were positively correlated with individuals’ own rejection sensitivity and negatively correlated with their own romantic relationship satisfaction. Third, women reported significantly higher levels of borderline personality traits and rejection sensitivity than men, whereas men reported higher romantic relationship satisfaction. Fourth, the actor effect of borderline personality traits on rejection sensitivity was significant for both men and women, whereas the partner effect was significant only for men. Fifth, the actor and partner effects of rejection sensitivity on romantic relationship satisfaction were significant only for women, with negative associations. Sixth, in the actor pathway from men’s borderline personality traits to their own romantic relationship satisfaction, only women’s rejection sensitivity showed a significant mediating effect. Women’s rejection sensitivity also mediated the association between women’s borderline personality traits and their own romantic relationship satisfaction. Seventh, women’s rejection sensitivity significantly mediated both partner pathways—from men’s borderline personality traits to women’s romantic relationship satisfaction and from women’s borderline personality traits to men’s romantic relationship satisfaction. Based on these findings, this study discusses implications and limitations and suggests directions for future research.
