초록
로너간의 주체 개념을 고찰하는 본 논문은 그의 주체론을 구성하는 기초 개념들을 명확하게 분석한다. 로너간이 그의 주체론을 구축해가는 과정은 그 주체가 객관성의 기준이 되는 초월적 방법으로 확립되어가는 과정이기도 하다는 것과, 이 과정에서 로너간은 주체의 인지 과정 안에 내재한 객관성의 기준을 매우 설득력 있게 제시한다는 것, 그리고 그의 합리적 기준에 비추어 볼 때 칸트의 인식론에서 제시하는 “개념들의 종합”이라는 판단의 기준이 가진 모순과 문제점이 자연스럽게 드러난다는 것 등을 다룰 것이다. 본 논문은 로너간의 주체 개념의 기본적 구성 요소들을 기술하는 부분과 확립된 주체론이 어떤 방식으로 활용되는가를 보여주는 부분으로 나뉜다. 전자는 첫째, 지향성 분석, 둘째, 로너간의 의식 개념, 셋째, 로너간의 의식 다시 말해 주체로서의 주체를 지향 적으로 분석하는 자기-적정화의 과정에 관한 논의들로 이루어져 있다. 후자는 로너간의 주체가 초월적 방법이라 불리는 이유, 초월적 방법으로 비추어본 칸트의 판단의 기준이 가진 모순점 등에 관한 논의들과 그의 주체론의 가장 큰 기여로 평가되는 통합성에 관한 고찰로 이루어져 있다. 로너간의 주체가 가진 통합성적 성격은 현대의 주체론의 흐름이 가진 문제점들의 강한 해결책으로 여겨지고 있다. 로너간은 인간의 의식의 점진적인 발달의 과정을 먼저 유아의 동물적인 감각의 세계 곧 즉각적인 세계와 언어로 매개되는 의미의 세계로 구분한다. 그리고 의미의 세계는 다시 상식의 세계, 과학적 이론의 세계 그리고 내면성의 세계로 나눈다. 로너간은 상식과 이론의 세계를 거쳐 내면의 세계에 도달한 주체는 다차원의 다양한 인지 행위들을 비교하고 그것들의 관계들과 구조를 인지하는 과정에서 비판적 의식을 갖게 된다고 말한다. 비판적 의식을 가진 주체는 자신 안에 구조화된 인지적 구조의 작용들은 상반되어 보이는 것들(경험과 이해)을 통합하는 역동적인 수행을 하고 있다는 것을 알게 된다. 따라서 로너간의 초월적 방법으로서의 주체는 변증법에 역행해서 반변증법적으로 차이를 동일성과 구분하고 개별성과 보편성을 구분하는 포스트모더니즘의 흐름에 해독제로 작용할 수 있을 것이다.

This thesis is the study on the Lonergan's notion of the subject as a norm of the objectivity. This topic is studied specifically from the viewpoint that Lonergan’s subjectivism can help to solve the dilemma from the conditions for the objectivity Emanuel Kant suggests in his the Critique of Pure Reason. Bernard Lonergan, a Canadian philosopher and theologian established his subjectivism by the analysis of intentional and conscious subjectivity in his great book, The Insight: A Study of Human Understanding. For Lonergan, the cognitive subject is a the dynamic structure of intellect constituted by radical intending, which is the primary principle of our conscious acts. In the main text, the structure of subjectivity and the consciousness and its operations as the starting point for Lonergan’s subjectivism will be described. For Lonergan the self-presence of the subject concomitant with the obvious and thematic presence of object is the consciousness, which is called the subject as subject, which Lonergan claims, the condition for knowledge of objects. When this subject is objectified, you can gain the the transcendental method you can emply as the norm of objectivity. In conclusion, it will be considered how this subject as a method not only helps determine the problems of the conditions for the objects from Kant, which is the synthesis of concepts and also how the subject as a method integrates the antithetic concepts the sensible and intellectual, the cognitive and existential.
