초록/요약

Biohybrid robotics represents an interesting paradigm based on the integration of well-designed artificial structures and living biological systems for in vitro drug testing or mimicking motion of living organism. In this study, a biohybrid robot is developed by mimicking a mudskipper with muscle bundles and molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) based bioactuator. The fins of the robot are fabricated to show and prove the inotropic effect, and each of the two fins consists of one muscle bundle, which is fabricated by skeletal muscle cells (C2C12) and various ECMs. The tail of the robot is a bioactuator composed of patterned C2C12, polyimide film, gold and MoS2. The results indicate that the twitching actuation of the robot is caused by controlling the bioactuator and muscle bundles. This developed biohybrid mudskipper robot can have an important impact on in vitro muscle models for inotropes and drug testing.
