Synthesis of Exchange Coupled Nanocomposite Nd2Fe14B/FeCo Magnet for the Enhanced Magnetic Property

초록/요약

The exchange coupling nanocomposite NdFeB/FeCo magnet was prepared by sol-gel combustion method. Cobalt ferrite nanoparticles (NPs) of 5 nm diameter coated with organic surfactants were mixed with hard-phase precursor sol solution (Nd(NO3)3, Fe(NO3)3, H3BO3) by using trimethylammonium hydroxide (TMAOH) as phase transfer agent. The mixture solution was aged to form gel, followed by combustion, oxidative annealing at 800 oC for 2 h and reductive annealing at 900 oC for 2 h to form NdFeB/FeCo composite. The structures of nanocomposites NdFeB/FeCo (100-x/x, mol%, x = 0%; 5%; 13.6%) magnets were characterized with X-ray diffractometer (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The magnetic properties of the samples were characterized with vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). Among these, nanocomposite NdFeB/FeCo(86.4/13.6, mol%) magnet showed the highest magnetic properties with Hc = 5.4 kOe and Ms = 43.5 emu/g
