초록/요약
The Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant Accident in 2011 triggered many practical researches on the remediation of environmental radionuclides and radioactivity. This paper proposes an eco-friendly carrier in removal of radioactive cesium from low level nuclear waste water by using microalgae and zeolite. Haematococcus pluvialis bagged into PET (Polyethylene terephthalate) mesh membrane removed over 80% of 1Bq/ml 137Cs in distilled water within 48 hours. Chlorella vulgaris embedded in alginate bead removed 30% of 1Bq/ml 134Cs in distilled water within 48 hours. Titanosilicate zeolite encapsulated in alginate bead removed over 70% of 1Bq/ml 134Cs in sea water within 24 hours. All radioactive cesium removal was measured in real-time by ARAMOS (Aqua Radiation Monitoring System).
