Catalytic conversion of ethane to ethylene over Ni-Me-Al oxide catalyst prepared by sol-gel method : 졸-겔법 기반의 니켈-메탈-알루미나 혼합 산화물 촉매를 이용한 에탄에서 에틸렌으로의 화학적 전환 연구

In this work, conversion of ethane to ethylene was studied over various Ni-Me-Al oxide catalysts. To improve the yield from ethane to ethylene, the Ni-Alumina catalysts with transition metal oxide promoter (Ni-Me-Al oxide, Me = Mg, Nb, Mn) were prepared by sol-gel method. These catalysts were investigated why they show enhanced performance compared to previously reported catalysts for ethane to ethylene conversion by a variety of catalyst characterizations like XRD, FE-SEM, TEM, BET, and XPS. The fine morphology of catalyst particles was confirmed by electron microscopy and the binding energy of fresh and spent catalysts was confirmed by XPS technique. Catalytic performance of these catalysts were evaluated in the temperature range of 300℃~500℃. Ethane conversion was approximately from 20% to 40%, ethylene selectivity was around 70%, and ethylene yield was in the range of 13% to 25%.
