초록/요약
Numerical simulation is performed for a vane vacuum pump, which is used for a brake boosters in automobiles. In the pump, the air is evacuated from the vacuum tank which is connected to inlet of the pump while the lubrication oil is injected to the pump. The air-oil interface in the pump is tracked by the volume-of-fluid (VOF) method of the FLUENT. The dynamic mesh method is used to consider the rotation of vane, housing and eccentric rotor. The mechanism of a vane vacuum pump and oil distribution in the pump are visualized. The effects of check valve, bypass hole and groove on the pump are quantified.
