초록/요약
지역의 경제적 성과는 산업 구조의 영향을 받기 때문에 산업 구조를 이해하는 것은 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 산업의 특화, 다양성 및 사업체 규모로 산업 구조를 정의하고 각 요인이 고용 성장과 entrepreneurship에 미치는 영향을 실증 분석하였다. 분석을 위해 통계청에서 전국 16개 시도에 관한 자료를 수집하여 선형회귀분석을 수행하였다. 분석의 결과를 요약하면 (1)지역 산업의 고용 성장을 위해서는 지역 내 한 산업이 특화된 것보다 다양한 산업이 존재하는 것이 유리하고, (2)평균적으로 지역 내 사업체 규모가 작을수록 고용 성장을 촉진하는 경향을 보였다. 위의 결과는 지역 특화 산업 육성보다 소규모의 다양한 산업을 육성하는 것이 지역의 고용 성장을 이끈다는 점을 시사한다. 그리고 (3)지역 내 한 산업이 특화되는 것은 entrepreneurship에 부정적 영향을 주는 것으로 나타나는 반면 (4)산업의 다양성은 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 그러므로 고용 성장의 분석 결과와 마찬가지로 entrepreneurship의 촉진을 위해 지역 산업의 다양화를 유도해야 함을 알 수 있다.

It is important to understand industrial structure because they affect regional economic performance. This study attempts to define industrial structure by specialization, diversity, and size of establishment and analyze the effect on employment growth and entrepreneurship using data on Korean regions (16 Si Do) collected from KOSIS. The results show that (1) specialization of some industries has negative effect on the growth rather than there are diverse industries in a region. (2) Employment growth tends to be promoted when size of establishment is smaller in a region. This result suggests that diverse industries promotion drives employment growth rather than specific industries promotion. (3) Diversity of regional industries has positive effect on entrepreneurship whereas (4) specialization has negative effect on it. Thus, the result suggests that diverse industries need to be driven in order to promote entrepreneurship in a region such as the result of analysis of employment growth.
