초록/요약
This study focuses on identifying the country-specific determinants of intra-industry trade in manufacturing sector between Vietnam and major trading partners using GLS method. The results of the econometric analysis reinforce the hypotheses of the theoretical models. The results indicate that the extent of Vietnam intra-industry trade is positively correlated with the average country size and average income levels, while it is negatively correlated with income inequality, distance, and trade imbalance. Those factors affect horizontal intra-industry trade (HIIT) and vertical intra-industry trade (VIIT) in the same way except for the effect of income inequality (DPCI) on VIIT. DPCI unexpectedly produces a statistically insignificant impact on the extent of VIIT. The coefficient of FTA is unexpectedly insignificant in three estimations, indicating an ambiguous effect of the participation in regional economic integration schemes on the share of IIT, HIIT and VII.

이 연구는 베트남과 GLS 방법을 사용하여 베트남과 주요 무역 파트너 사이의 부문 제조 산업 내 무역의 국가 별 결정 요인을 식별에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 계량 분석 결과는 이론적 모델의 가설을 뒷받침해준다. 그 결과들은 베트남 산업 내 무역(Intra-industry trade)의 확장이 평균 국가 규모와 평균 소득 수준과 긍정적으로 연관되어 있음을 나타내는 반면, 소득 불평등과 격차, 그리고 무역 불균형과 부정적으로 연관되어 있음을 나타낸다. 수직적 산업 내 무역(VIIT)에 대한 소득 불평의 영향(DPCI)을 제외하고, 그러한 요소들은 수평적 산업 내 무역(HIIT)과 수직적 산업 내 무역(VIIT)에 동일한 방식으로 영향을 미친다. DPCI는 기대와는 다르게 VIIT의 확장에 통계적으로는 미미한 영향을 끼친다. 자유무역협정(FTA) 계수는 IIT, HIIT와 VII를 공유하는 지역경제통합 주제의 모호한 영향을 나타내기 때문에, 이 세가지 추정치에 있어 미미하다.
