초록/요약
본 연구에서는 청소년의 SNS 이용이 활발해지고 있음에 따라 청소년의 자기노출 정도와 대인관계 성향이 SNS 이용에 어떠한 영향을 미치는 가를 파악하고자 하였다. 청소년의 SNS 이용이 자기노출을 통한 정체성 확립 및 대인관계 형성의 중요한 수단으로 자리매김하여 SNS 이용 정도에 영향을 미칠 것으로 보이는 심리적 특성으로 자기노출과 대인관계 성향에 주목하였다. 연구를 위해 서울시내 인문계 남녀공학 고등학교 1곳과 여자고등학교 1곳의 1, 2학년 연령의 청소년 287명을 대상으로 설문 조사를 진행하였다. 연구문제 1. 카카오스토리 이용에 청소년의 SNS이용 동기는 어떤 영향을 미치는가? 청소년의 카카오스토리 이용 동기 중 ‘오락적 동기’가 카카오스토리 사용 기간에 유의미하게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며 카카오스토리가 청소년이 친구들과 전화나 문자 메시지 등과 같이 직접적인 커뮤니케이션을 위해 이용하기 보다는 언제 어디서나 심심할 때, 남는 시간을 활용하여 재미있게 이용할 수 있는 오락적 동기에 의해 이용하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 연구문제 2. 청소년의 자기노출 정도는 카카오스토리 이용에 어떤 영향을 미치는가? 청소년의 자기노출 정도가 카카오스토리 이용에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 자기노출 정도가 높은 청소년들이 SNS상에서도 적극적인 친구관계를 맺고 있었고 자신의 여가 취미 활동을 적극적으로 공개하고 싶어 하는 청소년들이 SNS를 오랜 기간 이용하고 있었다. 특히 말로 표현하기 어렵거나 걱정되는 일 등 자신의 고민을 SNS 게시 글을 통해 적극적으로 표현하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 연구문제 3. 청소년의 대인관계성향은 카카오스토리 이용에 어떤 영향을 미치는가? 청소년의 대인관계 성향이 카카오스토리 이용에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 동정적이고 수용적인 대인관계 성향을 가진 청소년들이 카카오스토리를 이용하고 있었으며, 여러 사람과 같이 어울리고 타인과 쉽게 친해지는 청소년뿐만 아니라 친구들에게 조언을 하거나 대인관계를 맺는데 있어서 자신의 주장을 강하게 내세우는 지배-우월 성향이 높은 청소년들이 카카오스토리를 통해 많은 친구들과 관계를 형성하고 있었다. 또한 즉흥적이며 과장하여 자기자랑을 하는 성향을 가진 청소년들도 카카오스토리를 이용하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이처럼 과시-도취 성향을 가진 청소년들은 유행과 지위를 나타내기 위해서 카카오스토리와 같은 SNS를 이용하기 때문에 사회적인 문제로 전개될 수 있다. 이미 우리는 SNS를 통한 청소년들의 사생활 노출 피해나 학교 폭력 등의 문제를 사회적 이슈로 만나볼 수 있게 되었다. SNS 게시 글을 통해 나타나는 상대방의 느낌에 민감한 반응을 잘 보이는 성향을 가진 청소년들에게 SNS는 오락적 기능뿐만 아니라 커뮤니케이션 기능을 골고루 갖춘 유용한 매체임이 분명하다. 그러므로 본 연구는 청소년들이 SNS를 더욱 주체적이고 올바르게 이용 할 수 있도록 돕는 미디어교육이나 프로그램이 필요하다고 시사하고 있다.

This study aims to examine the effect on SNS using by adolescents’ self disclosure need and interpersonal relation disposition. This study surveyed 287 high school students aged 16 to 17 in Seoul. Subject1. How does adolescents’ motive for using SNS affect using KakaoStory? The result showed that entertaining motive was a significant variation on the its using time. Wherever and whenever they wanted to feel better, adolescents were using Kakaostory. This means they were using it as entertainment rather than as communication means to their friends. Subject2. How does adolescents’ self-disclosure affect using Kakaostory? Adolescents’ self-disclosure was significant variation on using Kakaostory. Students who had high self-disclosure had enthusiastic activity on Kakaostory. Students who wanted to post their hobbies on it tended to using SNS longer than others. They also actively posted their worries on kakaostory so that they could express their feeling to others. Subject3. How does adolescents’ interpersonal relation affect using Kakaostory? Students who had sympathetic and acceptable interpersonal relationship character used Kakaostory. Not only who were extroverted, but also who were dominant-ascendant in interpersonal relationship were having many connection with friends on Kakaostory. Exhibitive-narcissistic students were also using it, because they wanted to express their status and fashion through it. And this can be a social problem. We already saw that there were many social problems about invasion of privacy through SNS. For adolescents, who are sensitive to others’ feeling, SNS can be very useful media because it has communication function as well as entertaining function. This study finds out that students need media literacy education or program for using SNS more effectively and in right way.
