초록/요약
This thesis proposes a control mechanism of UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) group to deliver the location information of moving target to the base station after finding the target. We assume that the UAV’s communication range is limited and only the UAVs are involved in the delivery of that information. When the target is too far away from the base station and the UAVs are beyond the communication range each other, UAVs move to the ones positioned in the direction toward the base station to deliver the location information. When the base station receives the location information of the target, it calculates the range of the target location and determine if it is possible for the UAVs to continue tracking the target. Additional UAVs may join the group when it is impossible for the UAVs to track the target within the given range of the reported location. The proposed scheme is evaluated through NS-2 simulation. The proposed scheme can be applied to the disaster area or war zone where the conventional communication infrastructure can not be used.

본 논문에서는 UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle)을 이용하여 목표물을 찾은 후 기지국까지 정보 전달을 하기 위해 UAV 그룹을 제어하는 방안을 제안한다. UAV들은 제한된 전송 범위를 갖고, 정보 전달은 UAV들 간에 통신으로만 가능하다고 가정한다. UAV들은 목표물이 기지국으로부터 멀어져 서로 간에 통신 가능거리 범위로부터 멀어졌다면, 목표물에 대한 정보를 전달하도록 스스로 정보를 갖고 기지국 방향으로 이동 후 다른 UAV에게 전달하는 과정을 수행한다. 기지국은 정보 수신 시 목표물이 위치한 범위를 계산하고, 기존에 보유하고 있는 UAV들에 한해서 목표물에 대한 지속적인 추적이 가능한지를 파악한다. 기지국은 UAV들이 더 이상의 추적이 힘들다고 판단되면 UAV를 추가 투입시킨다. 본 논문은 NS-2를 사용한 모의 실험을 통하여 제안되는 기법을 검증하고 성능을 평가하였다. 제안 기법은 기존의 통신 시설을 이용할 수 없는 재난 상황이나 전시 상황과 같이 UAV가 사람을 대신하여 목표물을 감지하며 기지국으로 신속히 전달하는데 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.
