Adult Attachment snd Depression of Undergraduates : Psychological Acceptance and Decentering

초록/요약

I have sought self-regulated mechanism that may have positive effects in adjusting depressed mood of people with insecure attachment styles. For this, I have verified how psychological acceptance and decentering buff and adjust the effects of insecure attachment on depression. I have collected questionnaires on Experiences in Close Relationships-Revised, Acceptance and Action and Experience that were distributed to 437 students in universities located in Seoul, Gyeonggi and Chungcheong, and conducted correlation analysis and stepwise regression analysis based on the collected data. The analysis results showed meaningful correlation among insecure adult attachment, depression, psychological acceptance and decentering. Moreover, psychological acceptance and decentering had adjustive effect on in the process of insecure adult attachment orientation affecting depression, i.e., interaction among insecure adult attachment, psychological acceptance and decentering has shown significant impact on depression level. This result implies that when we suppose insecure adult attachment levels of people are equal, depression levels of people with high levels of psychological acceptance and decentering are lower than that of those with low levels. Whereas there was no meaningful correlation between adult avoidant attachment and other variables. Based on the foregoing results, I have suggested significance and implications of this research and made a proposal for future researches.
