초록/요약
The purpose of this study is to examine that what factors have effect on medical expenditures of the elderly. In this study, I consider health condition, financial status and labor status as the independent variables, and I used KLoSA(Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing) data. Using this data, I performed ordinary least square(OLS) estimation, and panel data analysis under the various models. One of main results in this study suggests that chronic diseases have a significant effect on medical expenditures of the elderly. People who have had more chronic diseases tend to spend more money on their medical care. This phenomenon holds in all cases of this study.
