초록/요약

Part I. Efficient Synthesis of Azide-containing NMRP Initiators and Their Use in Preparation of Various Functional Polymers. Various alkoxyamine initiators for nitroxide mediated radical polymerization (NMRP) were prepared in high yields by the simple reaction of azide radical, vinyl monomers, and alkoxyamine free radicals. The required azide radical was easily generated by treating trimethylsilyl azide with phenyliodide diacetate (PIDA) in acetonitrile. This method is practical and efficient compared to other methods. To demonstrate the utility of the resulting alkoxyamine initiators, those alkoxyamine were used for the preparation of PS-b-PEO diblock copolymers, star shape copolymers, and PS-b-PEO-b-PMMA triblock copolymers by NMRP in combination with ATRP (atom transfer radical polymerization). It was also demonstrated that polystyrene could be prepared by initiating with the freshly prepared azide radical (TMSN3, PIDA). Part II. Study of Carbon Centered Radical for Self-Healing Polymer Glutaric acid and norbornene derivatives carrying HP-136 were synthesized and these monomers were subjected to UV-irradiation (350 nm) and ring opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) using 3nd generation Grubb’s catalyst. HP-136 derivatives had been used as a chain breaking antioxidant. We introduced this compound to polymer backbone in order to improve the stability of polymer structure and studied the effect of antioxidant activities.
