The aim of this paper is to investigate why the participants in mobile phone conversations orient to each other’s location, and how these orientations have to do with a reason for the call. So, I will examine naturally occurring mobile phone conversation’s modifications and organizations compared to landline telephone conversations. Especially, I will highlight the idiosyncratic aspects of mobile phone talks. Such as certain affordance of mobile phone, ‘the caller identification system’ yields the environment in which new interaction sequences come to play a role in the routine management of conversations. Crucially, I am interested in how the locational inquiry sequence and the talks related with such technological affordance.
