초록/요약
하드웨어의 성능 향상과 편리한 휴대성으로 점점 많은 사람들이 개인과 회사의 중요한 정보들을 모바일 폰에 저장하고 이용하게 되었다. 그러나 모바일 폰의 분실과 도난 사고는 빈번하게 발생하기 때문에 이로 인한 정보 유출 문제와 데이터 복구 문제는 모바일 보안에 있어서 중요한 요소가 되고 있다. 기존의 저장소 데이터 보호 기법은 모바일 폰 환경을 고려하고 있지 않다. 그렇기 때문에 이를 그대로 제한된 모바일 폰 환경에 적용시켰을 경우, 복수개의 키 관리 문제와 별도의 메타 데이터 생성으로 인한 오버헤드가 문제가 될 수 있다. 또한 기존의 기법들은 저장 디바이스의 분실 및 도난에 대한 대비책이 없기 때문에 모바일 폰 환경에 맞는 데이터 보호 기법이 필요해 졌다. 본 논문에서는 분실 및 도난을 고려한 모바일 폰에서의 데이터 보호 기법을 제안한다. 이 방식은 사용자 데이터의 기밀성과 무결성을 보장하고, 분실 및 도난 시에 단말기에 저장되어있는 데이터의 복구가 가능하다. 그리고 현재 사용되고 있는 모바일 폰 시스템에서 약간의 수정만으로도 구현 가능하도록 설계 되었다.

Important personal and enterprise information is being stored and used in mobile phones, taking advantage of their mobility and performance evolution. However, due to the frequent loss or theft cases of mobile phones, the leakage and recovery of such information have become an important issue in mobile security. Previously, many data protection mechanisms have been proposed, but they do not consider the mobile phone environment. Therefore, the overhead caused by multiple keys management and generation of metadata make them difficult to be implemented in such environment. Furthermore, a security mechanism for mobile phone environment has become necessary because the existing solutions do not provide any protection against device’s loss or theft. This thesis proposes a Data Protection Mechanism for Mobile Phones considering their Loss and Theft. This mechanism provides confidentiality and integrity of data, and offers a data recovery mechanism from device’s loss and theft. Additionally, the proposed solution is designed to be implemented with minor changes of the actual system.
