Structurally unique and functionally expected a new chiral bridged cyclam derivative, (2R,3R,5R,9R,10R,12R)-4,5,11,12-tetramethyl-2,3,9,10-tetraphenyl-1,4,8,11-tetraazabicyclo[6.6.2]hexadecane was synthesized from (1R,2R)-(+)-1,2-Diphenylethylenediamine. A variety of asymmetric catalytic reactions will be tested with metal complexes of this ligand.
