최근 비즈니스 환경이 다양하고, 복잡해지고 있으며 이에 따라 이를 지원하고 있는 정보시스템에 대한 고객 요구사항도 빠르게 변화하고 있다. 소프트웨어의 품질을 달성하기가 더욱 어려워지고 있으며, 소프트웨어의 품질을 높이기 위해서 고객의 요구사항을 잘 관리하여 소프트웨어에 누락 없이 잘 반영하는 것에 대한 중요성이 높아지고 있다.
또한, 요구사항 관리가 핵심 프로세스로 부각되고 소프트웨어 개발 생명주기인 분석, 설계, 구현, 테스트의 단계별로 요구사항이 후속 단계에 어떻게 반영이 되는지 누락이 없는지에 대한 추적성 관리가 중요해지고 있다.
본 논문에서는 실 사례를 통해 CMMI 기반의 요구사항 추적성 관리 프로세스를 준수할 때 와 준수하지 않았을 때를 비교 분석하였으며, 결함과의 상관관계를 통계적 기법을 통해 살펴보고 결함감소의 효과를 분석하여 실무에서 추적성관리가 잘 활용될 수 있도록 함을 목적으로 한다.

As the business environment is becoming diverse and complicated recently, customer requirements on information system supporting the business environment is changing rapidly. In addition, it is getting more difficult to produce high quality softwares. Therefore, it is becoming increasingly important for software producers to reflect all of customer demands in software production in order to raise software quality. Besides, the management of customer requirements is being emphasized as a crucial process. Moreover, traceability management is becoming increasingly important to see whether customer requirements is well reflected in each stage of the software development life cycle -analysis, design, development, and test.
On the bases of real cases, this study compared when CMMI based requirements traceability management was observed and when CMMI based requirements traceability management was not observed. It also examined the relationship between traceability management and defective software through statistical techniques. Then it analyzed traceability management’s effectiveness in reducing defects to make good use of traceability management during the actual software production.
