Part 1: Synthesis and Chracterization of cyclopentadienone-Ru complex Shvo’s diruthenium complex is an active catalyst in a considerable number of homogeneous reactions. The synthesis and characterization by X-ray crystallography study of a family of Shvo-type cyclopentadienone ruthenium complex derived from (-)-menthone.
Part 2: Synthesis of SCS Pincer catalyst Optically active sulfur containing C2-symmetric SCS pincer ligand was prepared from commercially available starting material.

Part 1: Synthesis and Chracterization of cyclopentadienone-Ru complex (-)-menthone으로부터 유도된 새로운 Shvo-type의 cyclopentadienone-ruthenium complex를 합성하였고 X-ray 단결정 회절법을 이용하여 cyclopentadienone-ruthenium complex의 구조와 dinuclear ruthenabicycle complex의 구조를 알아내었다.
Part 2: Synthesis of SCS Pincer catalyst 황을 포함하고 있는 광학활성을 갖는 팔라듐 및 로듐 촉매인 pincer-type 촉매를 합성을 수행하기 위한 pincer ligand를 합성하였다.
