The antisymmetric spin filter proposed by Streda and Seba is studied. The influuence of an impurity spin in an antisymmetric spin filter is investigated by employing the poor man''s scaling renormalization group method. The Zeeman energy of the impurity spin prevents the scaling flow from entering the strong coupling regime, hence the spin filtering mechanism remains robust against the impurity spin. Also the influence of a spinless impurity in antisymmetic spin filter is investigated for the low temperature case and the high temperature case. Using the bosonization method and scaling renormalization group method, the scaling flow differential equation shows the spin filter mechanism still remains possible.
