초록/요약
There existed substantial real wage differentials between colonial Korea and Japan. The wage gap had widened during the 1920s and somewhat narrowed in the 1930s. We argue that the labor productivity in agriculture was the main determinant of wages of agricultural labor and unskilled labor in the urban sector. Hence, the growing wage gap between colonial Korea and Japan in the 1920s was accountable by sluggish productivity in the Korean agricultural sector. It should also be noted that the number of Korean migrants to Japan increased as the wage differential between the two regions had widened.
